Although the new product launch conference of AET 2022 has ended,but we would like to conduct a in-depth analysis of our new products including the third generation of LED display products which are independently developed by AET.
Let‘s have a simple understanding of the common cathode driven structure first.PM mode high speed scan structure are being used in most of the LED display screens including P0.9/0.7 Micro spacing display screen,AM display structure are not being used yet.In the display panel, you can choose the industry's conventional common anode display structure or the common cathode display driven technology launched within this 2 years. So what is common cathode? Common cathode driven structure? Common cathode LED display screen?
The term “common cathode” we often seen in the phrases like “ common cathode drive structure” and “common cathode LED display screen” are all referring to the common cathode power supply mode.
The common cathode power supply mode
The common cathode power supply mode is a technical scheme to achieve energy saving of LED display screen based on the improvement of common anode technical scheme. It refers to driving the LED display screen in the common cathode mode, accurately distributing current and voltage for R, G and B chips respectively. The current first passes through the lamp bead and then to the IC negative electrode,this will reduce the forward voltage as well as the internal resistance.The common cathode power supply mode can reduce the heat dissipation of the LED screen and reduce power consumption, therefore it can be efficient and energy-saving at the same time.
What are the differences between common cathode and common anode LED display driven structure?
❶ Different driven mode:
Common cathode:The current first passes through the lamp bead and then to the IC negative electrode,this will reduce the forward voltage as well as the internal resistance.
Common anode:The current first passes through the PCB board and then to the lamp bead.unified power supply to the chips, it makes the forward voltage drop to increase.
❷ Different power supply voltage:
In the common cathode power supply mode,the voltage requirement of the red chip is 2.8V,while is 3.8V for the blue and green chip.Such power supply can achieve accurate power supply and less power consumption,and the heat generated by the LED display screen in operation is relatively low.
In common anode power supply mode,under the condition of constant current, the higher the voltage, the higher the power, and the greater the relative ratio of power consumption. At the same time, the heat dissipated by the LED display screen is greater.
Advantages of common cathode driven structure in LED display
❶ Independent power supply,energy-saving:
The common cathode driven structure adopts precised electronic control. Based on the different photoelectric characteristics of the three primary colors of LED , combined with the control system of common cathode IC and independent private model, it accurately distributes different voltages to the LED drive circuit, making the product power consumption more energy-saving and power-saving than similar products.
❷ Stability and realism in color:
The common cathode driven mode can control the voltage precisely,it can reduce the power consumption as we as the heat dissipation.Wavelength does not drifted under continuous operation,which can display the color truly and stably.
❸ Extended screen life:
LED display screen’s life is extended as a result of lower power consumption.Lowed system temperature reduces lower LED damage rate,improves the stability and reliability of the whole display system.
